Brownlee's Mill Blackball Havelock

Looking towards the Blackball Wharves with Mill and outbuildings. On the 11th October 1880 the first log was cut at this mill which was first owned by The Pelorus Saw Mill Company which went into liquidation November 1881 and was sold to the Brownlees. It's assets at the time of sale included the wharf and mill at Blackball, the tramway, locomotive and rolling stock. Valued at between 30,000 to 40,000 pounds and sold for 16,000 pounds.
