A good overall view of the Town Hall in Lucknow Street and adjacent (slightly obscured) the Post Office. It was reported in the Nelson Evening Mail - District News - Havelock Notes - 21st June 1907 "Our new Town Hall is to be opened on Friday, 21st inst. The occasion is to be celebrated by a ball. The building is an imposing structure, and reflects great credit on the architect, Mr W.K. Matthews and the contractors, Messrs Robertson Brothers."
