Queenstown-& The Remarkables

Queenstown-& The Remarkables

A great view of the central business area, wharf etc, 1950's.

The wharf was rebuilt in 1912 to accommodate the newly commissioned T.S.S. Earnslaw. Because of its size it became the main public landing for Queenstown and the facilities around the wharf shifted from primary goods to tourist facilities. Gone were the timber yards.
