Rare needle formation in "The Maori Leap Caves" are located 3 kilometres from Kaikoura, this limestone cavern is cut into the base of Maori Leap cliff, and was hollowed out by underground streams. There are some fine honey-coloured stalactites and stalagmites, and straw formations.
