The Invercargill building was competed in 1913, and is probably best known for hosting the Queen on her visit to Invercargill in 1954. The Grand Hotel operated for 50 years under the ILT (Invercargill Licensing Trust) and was later used as used as Southern Institute of Technology student accommodation. Info dated 17/07/2016

Extra Info - From June 2019 to March 2020 Habitat for Humanity managed the hotel and provided accommodation for over 700 homeless people a month. In 2020 the Grand Hotel (Former) continues operation, trading as The Grand Accommodation.
