Havelock Royal Visit

The Town Hall in Lucknow Street, decorated for the visit of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales visit in 1920. Also in view Galloway's Commercial Hotel.The prince was 25 years of age at the time of this tour and the eldest son of George V who arranged for his son to visit the Dominions as a thank you for the support shown to Britain during the First World War. The prince's full name was Edward, Albert, Christian, George, Andrew, Patrick, David ! His royal highness did suffer a nervous break down on his return home as his engagements for this tour where unrelenting.
